The LAX Bravo Confusing You?

We've noticed that there has been a lot of Class B violations recently. While no one gets harmed in the simulation world, if you busted a Bravo airspace in RL, you wouldn't be flying for a while. It doesn't help that LAX has a very complex Bravo airspace.

Not anymore! Take a look at THIS link. Produced by AeroNav, it's a very well defined map of the LA Bravo, including some visual aids on the ground that will help you locate the Bravo while flying.

Nice map but I think the more confusing part is the small D's and C surface areas in and around it... sometimes reading the chart is difficult, even on the TAC, will all the clutter.

The LAX B and the airspace below it is some of the most complicated I've ever seen as a private pilot. In many parts of the country, you can look at a chart for a few seconds and will be well-equipped to make a decision about how to navigate through or around the airspace. This is simply not the case with the LA area. There is little choice but to study the chart for quite a while to plan a route of flight and digest all of the airspace that pertains to the flight.

If I were to conduct a flight there, real life, I would plan it in detail and then execute it with as little variation as possible. Or, I would just go IFR, which is considerably easier there in many ways!

Drunken stagger -- or VFR route though and around the LAX Bravo? So hard to tell....
