64-bit beta for Windows
Posted: Mon Jan 07, 2013 12:53 pm
For windows only (for now). These URLs won't last forever, and once we change audio libraries, this structure is going to change quite a bit, but until further notice, Windows users are invited to try the beta. This won't go final until after 10.20 is final with official support for 64-bit:
http://assets.pilotedge.net/clients/xpl ... odex64.dll
http://assets.pilotedge.net/clients/xpl ... _win64.dll
http://assets.pilotedge.net/clients/xpl ... ugin64.xpl (V0.8.1, updated Jul 19 2013)
Most users will also need to install the 2010 Visual C++ 64-bit runtime from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=14632
I'm doing this in the forum for now to get some initial feedback and to make sure its' working for at least one other person. I'm not sure if the MSVCR100.dll in the home directory that we ship with includes both 32 and 64-bit support...so this is how we find out.
Instructions for installation with existing 32-bit version already in place:
1) drop those files into your X-Plane 10.20/resources/plugins folder,
2) rename your existing VSProPlugin.xpl (this is the existing 32-bit version) to a .bak extension to prevent X-Plane from loading BOTH versions of the plugin
Start X-Plane.exe (the 64-bit version) and have at it.
Please report issue in this thread.
