[February 7th 08:00pm PST] Westcoast fly-in: KSNA Pattern!

So at the end of the last fly-in, we had a really fun time filling up the pattern at KSNA. So after that I was thinking, how about a fly-in where we just all show up at an airport and do pattern work to fill up the pattern?
If you joined previous west coast fly-ins, you know that I could use all the pattern/landing practice I can get. lol
I know pattern work sounds boring to some, but trust me, when we did this last week it was an absolute blast!
No planning session will be held this week, as no planning is really required for closed traffic.
So I hope a bunch of you can make it out for John Wayne traffic-fest 2013!

So people have been eerily quiet for this weeks fly-in event.
Are people hating this idea? If so, let me know and I can always change it up for tomorrow.

Speaking for the Waterbury flying group it sounds fun! I'm sure we all can use practice in the pattern. The more the merrier!
Unfortunately some of our flyers may not be able to attend.
Looking forward to lot's of fun!
PS - Let's hope Keith is controlling and we'll all have a ball, knowing he loves controlling a busy pattern.

This was about the last third of the insanity.

Keith is on the road in Florida for a series of commercial meetings, but I would love to help control for a pattern fest in the future. Yes, I do love working a busy pattern!
Unfortunately, these road trips are fairly brutal, I have meetings/travel all day every day, and then have to work at night.

Thanks a lot Brett! I had HUGE fun!
How about, KVNY to KIFP next time. That would be a nice long scenic flight. If it's too long, then an alternate could be KVNY to KSAN.
Good luck in Florida, Keith!

When I do pattern work, I file VFR with the same airport for departure and destination. Lets people know I'll be there a while. It also lets me post notes if I am testing new equipment or plane or software upgrade. I often pick an airport that other planes may be enroute for. I try to check the map on the PE homepage before flights.
I will be flying lots Saturday. Probably a lotta pattern work to start.
