Hi Everybody

I have just joined PE and really enjoyed my circuits, I mean, patterns - forgive me! :D

I have just looked at the ORBX site and find the PE coverage area is not covered by ORBX scenery. Can anyone recommend something nice for the area please?

Thank you

I use GEX and UTX for terrain and scenery in FSX. The both together make a pretty big difference. It is not photo real scenery but that doesn't bother me. It is pretty easy to follow VFR landmarks and you get all of North America for a pretty reasonable price.

I know a lot of people use MegaScenery for photo real terrain, but you're going to spend a lot more to get all of North America.

Thanks for the reply, I do have GEX and UTX I will see how much mega scenery is and decide which to install - if anyone uses mega scenery please let me know your thoughts

Edit - how is your performance with GEX and UTX?

Thanks

BTW have you upgraded to the latest release of GEX?

My performance is fine with those two. RealEnvironmentX is the one that hurts. I'm upgrading now... I just saw that there was an update when I looked up those links (which you didn't need :P).

Let me know what you think to the updates when you've tried them

Thanks

G'day Andrew,

I have MegaScenery for FSX installed with no performance problems what so ever, it's been just what the doctor ordered as far as VFR and Low IFR for me.

I was hoping that ORBX might have put something out for SOCAL by now, but when I visited PC Aviator Oz site I was impressed with the pictures they showed
for this package, and haven't look back since.

As a matter of fact, due to a small issue with the PCA site I inadvertently pick the FS2004 version but Dean was kind enough to send me the FSX version at the
FS2004 price.

Hi Merv

Thanks for the feedback; I think I am going to investigate MegaScenery, from what I have seen it does look nice.

Andrew, forgot to mention MegaScenery X Southern California does not cover all areas of California, for a look at what it covers
and what extra you may want to get, check out MegaSceneryEarth web site below

Last night I thought I would extend the scenery coverage further north to cover some more airport areas, i only bought a few
so I could check them out first, here is what you can expect, check out the top down view, I placed the 109 tile over the top of
the existing MegaScenery X on purpose, to give you a better idea of the texture change that occurs between the two areas.

It goes to say that is not what I was hoping for.
