Flight of Pacific Western Boeing 737

The Alberta Aviation Museum had to move this beautiful plane to a new location because of the Edmonton City Centre Airport closure on November 30, 2013.

It flew from CYXD to CZVL on a 13 minute flight to it's new home in Villeneuve, Alberta. The City in all of it's wisdom had the museum move it because they have had made new property lines and the tail of the Boeing 737 was over that line.

It was a close call to get it airborne before the closing of the airport, and they got it in the air a day before. There were options of dismantling it and trucking it, but I think you will agree it was made to be flown and I am glad that it did.

Thanks for posting the video Vince!

Interesting to see that they kept the gear down for the entire flight. Did they not completely trust the gear to cycle?

Hi Mark,
Yes,
I believe that to be the case. Since it was such a short flight(13 minutes in total) I assume that since it had not flown since 2005, that they were taking no chances.
