Hello everyone here!

Recently I've started the PPL training in Europe (EASA PPL) and now wondering if I'll be able to effectively use the PE facilities. As far as I understand the visual flight rules and ATC communications are pretty similar in US and Europe, but not really sure if there some significant differences which could stay on the way.

What will actually happen if I'll try to fly VFR route in PE while communicating with ATC in EASA/JAA manner and phraseology? Will I brake any local (US or PilotEdge) rules with that?

I'd recommend the 15 day trial if you haven't started already. I don't represent PE but the ATC is all US based... Obviously the FAA has made some recent ICAO based changes such as "line up and wait" but you may find things a little different than in the EU.

In addition to that, the VFR procedures are accurate especially in a busy terminal environment. You'll definitely want charts (www.skyvector.com) and you'll want to look at VFR transitions specified on the left side of the TAC (Terminal Area Chart).

My trial is already finished and I'm not ready to perform controlled flights yet - need to learn the basic communication rules and phraseology first. All I've already seen here in workshops looks very similar to what I read in my trainig course books. Asking just in case there is some significant difference between US and EASA flight rules I don't know yet.

I'm currently doing my PPL in Dublin, Ireland and while you will find there are some differences between procedures and phraseology I find you just get used to the differences quite quickly and you move on. I find that pilotedge has helped me greatly so far with my training and there's no differences large enough to have any negative impact on your training. In my opinion pilotedge is a great learning tool no matter where you are so I would encourage you to sign up and get going!

Thank you for encouragement! Looking forward to start PE training flights as soon as finish Air Law and basics of Radiotelephony.

I'll also point out that you can really start on pilotedge as soon as you want. I had very limited knowledge at before starting on PE and it was actually through flying on PE that I learned a lot of what I know. So there's no need to have finished reading all the flight training manuals or anything like that before you get started. Of course that is up to you and it's certainly not going to do you any harm to read up on all that stuff. But if I were you I'd just get started right as soon as possible!
