This service is the best!
I did my first flight on PE, live on my twitch live stream last night. I never used comms, ever, in real life or my entire flight sim career (20+ years) (crap, I am old LOL).
I had so much fun learning the intro flight from L52 to KSBP, I was even talked in to doing pattern work at KSBP. At one point we had 4 people doing touch and go's. I even managed to do my first cross country flight. I want to say, Big thanks to the controllers that put up with my Noobness. And thank you to everyone that was watching and flying with me.

You guys will see me around often.

AF, I remember seeing your stream months and months ago and hoped one day you'd make the leap over to our network, simply because you seemed to love simulation so much, it was hard to imagine that you wouldn't enjoy including this in your overall sim experience. I hope to watch the replay and see how it all went

I'll be getting a twitch thread going here soon with a master list of 'known streamers' (ie, ppl who routinely stream their flights on twitch). It's a great learning tool for existing users and other potential users who are sitting on the fence wondering if this is for them.

Welcome, and enjoy! Trust me, there's a lot of fun to be had here on the network. I think a lot of people get caught up in how complex the airspace and procedures can be (and deep in the heart of the airspace around LAX, it really is a hot mess). As you move further out, though, things get simpler and there's room for fun. Just the other night, Ty and I were doing formation gliding out of 1L8 (inspired by Bruno V's gliding videos on YT which I posted a while back) on PE and we had an absolute blast.

All sorts of people do all sorts of flying in the national airspace system...there's no reason you can't do it here, too. Take your time, enjoy the airspace and bite off just enough that's a challenge, but not a slaughter. If you can swing that, I think you'll love it here.

Welcome, indeed. Too bad I couldn't watch the stream. I was with you the other night when you flew out of Oakland. What was that scenery you were using, by the way? I missed that...

This is a service that is worth having. It took a little shoving from Ty and Jack, but I am glad I took the plunge. My goal is to be able to fly into LAX, with the 727 using VOR only. Ty showed me the charts I need to learn.

I am using LAX and SFO photo scenery from SimHeaven, GoldenGate Scenery, and Ted Davis xpalne 10 Los Angeles area scenery. Plus all the available Xplane scenery found on the Pilot Edge X-Plane forum section. I spent the better part of Saturday doing scenery work for the PE coverage area.

The ATC comms are no biggie, but flying the SIDs and STARs in a jet using VOR alone will require you to stay ahead of the airplane, no question

I'd suggest going through our IFR training program in a Baron, that will be a great start for you. Once you can track a series of short airways, you'll be prepared to fly something heavy and fast using similar techniques.

Sooooo last night I did the V-2 check ride (for practice, the real deal will come tonight), I found a flaw in my flight planning.

Upon landing at ONT I exited the runway and called out to tower. He then asked me where I want to go...... My reply was, "I have no Idea". It was all I could come up with at that time. Tower giggled and said taxi via Sierra.

Soooooo, Learn from my mistake and always know where you are going, once you get to where you are going.
