FYI, sim720 just released their Santa Barbara scenery. I haven't seen it yet, but if Catalina is any indicator it should be nice.

Well, their Catalina scenery was excellent, so I purchased KSBA...... and I am very disappointed. I really can't believe they were satisfied with the final product. The scenery looks cartoonish compared to Catalina. In fact I would argue the person or people who did Catalina had zero involvement with this scenery. The ground textures are plain. Taxiway edges don't even match the rest of the taxiways. The tiled concrete on the terminal ramp looks too clean; it looks like kitchen tile really. The buildings look cartoonish, static and animated people appear randomly placed with no thought as to why, all taxiway signs are missing, windsocks are missing, the rotating beacon is missing, the photoreal has no grass texturing, parking lots look terrible, and the AFCAD is messed up. I really had high expectations for these guys and I really think this scenery isn't close to the bar set by Catalina. Sadly it costs more that FlightBeam KDEN, which is in a league of its own. It's better than default, and there are aspects I like, but if this is the future of sim720, I won't be buying any more scenery from those guys. These guys were apparently trained by Orbx, yet there is nothing Orbx about this scenery. I'm usually the last to be critical of scenery as I know how much work and time it takes to make even a mediocre scenery, but I just had higher expectations from sim720.

Sheesh thanks for falling on the sword. It did look cartoony in their shots but I'm surprised that it's not so good hmmmm...

Well thanks for saving be the moola.

It's still a decent scenery, just not what I expect from sim720. When you pay $35 USD for a scenery there is a certain expectation. My comment that I would never buy another scenery from them again was too harsh. I posted in their forums my critiques and concerns and they have been very receptive, which is a huge positive.
