frequency change not being recognized

The dreaded "frequency change not being recognized" problem reared its ugly head again the morning (~3 hours after opening, ~0400 AEST). I know this problem is being worked on as we speak. But, occassionally a controller goes above and beyond the call of duty. I have no idea who it was, but the guy handling most of it this morning deserves a heart felt thank you. Using IDENT for acknowledgement and watching the slightest nuance in my movements, he got me to short final of 26L. I stuffed the landing, would normally have gone around to keep it real as, but this morning had to get the backpackers out and working. Irrespective, thanks mate for a top flight.
