is there a way to make the PE audio sound like its coming from a radio reciever? I think it would add alot of immersion.

It is possible to do using an independent audio processor. I used a combination of VSTHost (an plugin-based audio processing platform) and Virtual Audio Cable (to route PilotEdge audio to VSTHost) to implement realistic radio quality / distortion.

You can run the receiver, that makes it a different program then.

Please don't do anything to make the controllers less intelligible. It may be more realistic, but do we need to have more "Say again" in a training environment like this? The simplest way to make the sound worse (well, in a GA plane anyway) is to turn up the engine noise a bit more.

No doubt, a bit of software audio tweaking could give you the VHF sound, but I would entreat Keith (should he ever wish to implement this - and I doubt it would increase the customer base) to ensure that it was a switchable enhancement (or degradation) by the pilot user in the plugin.

Manufacturers of the best ANR headsets (Bose, Lightspeed, etc.) build in DSP to enhance the speech frequencies, not degrade them :D

Also, remember that not all users are 25 years old............
