It's usable without a subscription. The subscription allows you to download and keep new charts.

I'm not sure if it keeps the downloaded charts after your subscription ends. However, you can install the app and it will download the charts on the fly as they are needed without a subscription. It won't work well without an internet connection, but that should be ok for you. The subscription is needed if you want to have access to the charts when you are not connected.

I'm wondering if there's a way for PilotEdge to offer ForeFlight subscriptions as a bundle. Foreflight has a web portal for business users where you manage the number of authorized users and other details. Maybe as a $10/month add-on to the standard PE monthly fee. There would have to be some rules/guidelines around it. I'm not currently flying and don't have a cellular iPad to use it in the plane, but my standard WiFi iPad would work at home.
