Question about VFR Workshop FP&C Part 1

Hello all,

I was doing the multi-leg flight as talked about in VFR workshop videos and this question specifically pertains to the second flight to Marina (KOAR). I had Norcal approach on the way in but then on my departure I was told there is no PE service in the area. The two are on the same frequency (133.0) Looking at the coverage map there indeed should not be coverage. My question is then was that an anomaly, did the PE ATC stretch out of the way to accommodate me, or is there just an ebb and flow of coverage areas?

Additional side question, the video states to contact Oakland Center via what I guess is the Priest mountain coverage extension or something silimar to that and I was told Oakland Center does not function in that corridor either.

I love the service, I'm just learning so I prefer following workshop flights at the moment.

David, sorry about the confusion, not all of the workshop examples were designed to be flown on PE.

your best bet would be to do the First Flight scenario as well as the training program once you have watched the workshops.
