Just curious if there is any intrest in setting up a list or group of individuals with compatable sims/planes that would like to fly pilot/copilot for CRM training/fun.

I for one am on xp 10 running win7.

I like Short IFR flights.

i can use a copilot with some/little ifr knowledge skills and up.

Interested yes. Time--not much. I'm also X-Plane and Win7. I've been thinking about shared cockpit too.

don't hesitate to shoot me a PM if you want to give it a shot. I bought the plugin, and have used it just a couple times. But it was pretty cool when I did use it. The default Baron works well. I believe others do as well, but I have only tried the baron.

My only hassle with the Baron is the yoke is in the way. Need to learn how to set camera views and map to a button on the yoke. I'll try to find some time soon. Usually weekends

Yeah, I recently purchased the plugin and haven't yet got a chance to use it. It would be cool to try it out in the default baron. I don't have any payware aircraft currently supported although I know that helipilot (Chris) has created a cfg file for the Carenado C90 and that there is a FF 757 cfg file to be released in the near future.

Hey guys

This sound alike fun to me but as usual I a bit behind the power curve.

What's the specific plugin and purchase link?
I have the carenado c90 where does one get the aforementioned cfg file?
I like short IFR also and "low time IFR" is my middle name and I'll even call you captain from time to time if you like :)

Google smartcopilot. The cfg files are located on the same site as the plugin itself. Plugin installation is easy. The peer to peer networking required to be able to have someone connect to you from behind your firewall (port forwarding or VPN) is less trivial. Once you're setup, though, it's quite incredible.

Thanks Keith, I'm going to buy this for sure.

Before I sally forth into the P2P aspect, can I ask you guys how this compares to setting up X-Plane on your OWN network for a "shared cockpit" experience? I confess I have not read through XPs manual yet (but will I promise)...what will plain old XP do on your own network without the plugin? I've seen some "stuff" in the config but haven't pursued it.

My situation - I happen to have 2 computers right next to each other in my office - could I fly a shared cockpit using these two with my retired Delta Capt Dad using the MAC? (I'd want to be out of arm's reach at least so he couldn't smack me as co-pilot).

I also can envision using it across the network P2P with him at his home or with other less inclined to smack me pilots on the Interweb -- and I know that this plugin perfect for that if one can setup the port forwarding etc (fingers crossed...mixed PC/MAC network)...

I would imagine that this plugin would let you do both scenarios - sadly I didn't see a manual on the download page. Guess I'll just leap.
