The legendary Burt Rutan has finally retired. packed the station wagon, and drove back to Idaho.

But, it was a pretty damned good run. In his lifetime he has five planes on display at the Smithsonian, won the Anasazi Xprize award, and is central to launching the next generation of space tourism with <Sir>Richard Branson.

It'll be sad to see him go back to whatever planet he came from.

I saw the tribute they area they setup as a tribute to him at Oshkosh. It was a spectacular array of airplanes.
