Helicopter guys we have a new challenge for people to try. The published ceiling of the 407 18,600ft. The challenge is who can get the highest? Now Class Alpha airspace obviously starts at 18,000ft so people would either need permission to go higher or try it offline. Post screen shots and see who can fly the highest in the 407. Should be interesting to see how high people can get.

28min:36sec- 25,000 no issues - depart 46CA, real world weather, outside temp -22C
surprised to see MGT at 790 at this point.....I had it well within limits up to 24,000

29min:53sec - 25,200 on instruments, pushing MGT to the limit

31min:30sec - 25,350 .......and so begins the autorotation - glad to say I walked away from it but it wasn't pretty. No worries, I rented

You may notice that I neglected to set the altimeter when passing through 18,000 so should subtract 250 feet from these numbers.

710 is the max continuous limit, it's no surprise the engine quit after a few minutes above that

...which explains why it could make it that high. I think he hotrods his choppers.

I'm not sure how the logic is written, but I suspect if you bring the power back under 710 for a little while, then go back into the yellow, you might be good. Using that technique, you should be able to average a pretty high power setting to maximize the altitude.

So 25,350ft is the height to beat, wow that's high.
