Challenge: M.A.S.H Scenery in X-Plane?

So, with all of the helicopter flying lately plus a recent Netflix binge watch of M.A.S.H. I looked up the old shooting location:

34.096141, -118.745211

SkyVector route (starting at KVNY): http://skyvector.com/?ll=34.08683939827 ... :A.K2.KVNY

I have this dream (silly right?) of learning to fly one of the old Bell helicopters to an X-Plane scenery that looks like the old M.A.S.H. set. Anyone feel up to the challenge? I'm trying to hack something in WorldEditor but failing badly at this point.

EDIT: State Park link to dedicate webpage with history.

That's pretty cool, Steve, it would be awesome to see this come together.

I'm definitely going to try this in the WorldEditor software as a learning effort. The OpenScenery library might have some starter objects, but I'll have to Google search for the rest.

I was hoping that the historical imagery on Google Earth might have a shot of the set in use but the earliest image I found was from 1989 (very low res).

Near as I can tell, this is the set on 7/23/2014 with an overlay of the classic last scene.

Good luck on this project......cool idea.

EDIT: You probably already found this but this site has some good images and maps of the set layout
