Weird to see clouds in PSP

Flew a random night trip around San Diego class B, then onto PSP VFR... planned to go all the way VFR in but there were some large clouds and so I picked up an IFR.
It was actually nighttime but I'm just showing the look in the daytime - it was so weird to see OVC in the METAR.
