My funniest interaction with a controller ever...

I'm in the TRACON doing preventative maintenance on an emergency transceiver... It's almost pitch black in there, so I quietly ask him if I can turn up the light above his position a little.

He finds a break in his transmissions, turns his head slightly and quickly says: "approved as requested."

Haha that's great. I love when phraseology slips through in everyday life. Today I was on a headset at work (which I usually avoid as I'm not customer facing) and I must have said "That's affirm" and "Say again for Dave?" like 5 times I probably sounded like a nut!
