Might be off topic, but for all you fans of the Heli,

Got a flight in a CH-47 Shinook last week...

I have a new found respect for the ungainly aircraft! 60 degree banks didn't agree with some of the soldiers... Three puked. They practice some evasive landing techniques because of the RPG threat.

I THINK this was in the PE coverage area... Fort Hunter Liggett and Camp Roberts.

Anyway, I'll have to give one a try.

Suggestions as to the version to fly in X-Plane?

That's awesome! I've flown that thing quite a bit to build FBOs in FSEconomy. The hauling power of that thing is almost unbelievable.

Your choices are very limited for X-Plane. There's a free version for X-Plane 8. I had to convert the airfoils to V9 format (using V9 PlaneMaker), but it worked. The cockpit is pretty messed up I'm sorry to say, time hasn't been kind to the panel...but it flies nicely enough. The contrast in handling between being light and being heavy is _staggering_.

Where you on coms with the crew Keith? If you we're I'm willing to bet one of the Warrant Officers said "Watch this S***!"

I assume that was for Ron, I haven't flown in the real Chinook.
