VFR class B landing.

Hello,
As a newbie I enjoying the flight of the day offered by PE. I fly only VFR in the C182. I also did my V3 so can do a bravo transition.
In two days the flight of the day will take me to land at klax. How does it work ATC wise? I suppose you do not use transition?
Thank you in advance for the help.

Hello!
VFR flight into a class B is really similar communications wise to a flight into a class C BUT you have to have specific clearance into the class B airspace from ATC. The best way in will be to call for flight following to LAX from your departure airport. You'll probably be asked to navigate over specific VFR reporting points that you can find on places like SkyVector.
This is all much easier on PE than in the real world which is why Bravos seem more intense even though practically speaking they are only a sentence different from each other for arrivals. In the real world SoCal approach could just deny you if they're too busy!

Thank you for the reply.
I understand that in real life Lax would not be happy with my C182t ( t for turtle).
So basically I'm just asking flight following, will get clearance to enter the bravo and will get vectors for landing?

Dave,
Have you requested clearance to land at a Bravo field and been denied in real life? I've landed at PHL, JFK, MSP, and BOS under VFR without any issues at all. I've visited other Bravos, too, but they were under IFR flight plans so I won't include them here.

Not a landing, but Chicago wouldn't even let me into approach airspace on an ifr plan earlier this week. They diverted me farther around so I'd stay with center.

What's your tail? I've got a friend who works at C90... maybe we can get you a more direct route next time

N2877B. Plan was KMZZ EON KMSN. I knew I needed to go around somewhat, didn't expect direct over Chicago. ForeFlight came back that my expected route was as filed. About 50nm south of Chicago, center came on with a reroute (MEITZ HERVY KMSN) which "is the most direct route that keeps you out of approach airspace". Not a huge deal or anything, added about 30 nm. Next time might file JOT instead of EON, but I had gotten EON on a similar route previously.
I was at 6000, probably not a fantastic altitude for the arrival steam. Several Southwest 737s went over us at 7000.

To add to the VFR part of it, I've landed VFR at KSTL and KPHX in GA aircraft with 100% no issue at either airport.

Not VFR either. Otherwise, totally on point, Reece. Nice work

Out of curiosity, what are the FBO fees usually associated with those large Class B FBOs? If I land at DAL or DFW, am I over optimistic to think I would only have to pay for the top-off?
