PMDG DC-6 for X-Plane - Beta stuff

Looks like the lid is off of the PMDG beta embargo. AVSIM has some links. Not a bad first attempt at X-Plane. I'm biased a little--the FJS 732 already looks pretty far ahead of them and the IXEG 737 is (when shipping) a formidable competitor.
Thoughts?

He is streaming a lot, actually even as I post this...absolutely love this plane.
Talk about a perfect candidate for SC...lots to do in this one.
....already camped out at the door ready to buy

I wasn't sure about it. While the systems are intriguing, the sounds and graphics don't seem to be that much better than something like Jack's FJS 732. What do you think after seeing the videos?

They haven't added the sound package yet. Still using X-Plane stock sounds.

There is one oddity that I am not sure I am a fan of, and that is the panel shake. It is pretty aggressive (only on ground mind you) but the surrounding areas are completely still. I asked and apparently that is intentional to model what it actually does in RW...
Heavily modeled, even power switches for the added GPS and "modern Radios" behind the pilot seat are functional.
Asked about failures and it would seem only the default Xplane ones are available at this time.

Intentional and realistic. Now they may still need to tune it, but those giant radials at a low power setting will shake the panel quite a bit. Again not sure how much( PMDG with access to an actual working DC-6 will know better), but it's realistic.

Thanks for the links. Certainly looks good, but I agree that it doesn't look any better than Jack's superb work. Because the glareshield is covered in padding that shows no sign of any vibration, the illusion of reality is slightly dented for me. You don't expect to see much happening with the glareshield of a modern jet in cruise, but I'd expect some form of "life" in a four engined, radial piston plane. I note that there is vibration on the ground, and that what is depicted (i.e. not much) is apparently what happens in the air (PMDG are usually spot on), but it looks a bit dead to me...... I haven't watched much of the ground stuff, as the audio is muted on a lot of it. I wish streamers would note that Twitch will mute the audio if it has copyrighted music in it. I'm not looking at an X-Plane preview for the music!
I've had the Just Flight DC6B for FSX for a bit and, although the graphics aren't up to PMDG's, it's still fun to play with. I'm sure that PMDG's will be much more accurate, but exactly what it's like to fly a real DC6 is something I bet none of us really know. A lot of us can pontificate and criticise some of the X-Plane (or FSX/P3D) GA planes that we may have flown in the RW, but a DC6?
Still, I'm sure we'll buy it!

Looks like this beauty is not too far from being released:

I hope there will be a good SmartCopilot interface for it, as this would be one of the planes where a two man crew is really nice to have.

Thanks for the link. I forget to check the Avsim forums.
This does look like it's going to be a lot of fun. I can see PE being flooded with /A prop-liners.
