Fsx to xplane
I'm considering switching to xplane for me PE operations. I'll never completely give up fsx as the complex airliner simulations are from my pov far ahead of xplane, as well as 3rd party payware airports, some are simply amazing in detail and visual quality. However I do like xplanes flight physics in ga aircraft. I have just disk 1 with the California hd-mesh-v3 installed and working with with empty airports. I've researched around and have found multiple packs and individual airports for the socal area, is there any opinions on packs that offer the best visual experience and offer many airports populated. Ultimately I would like to populate socal as much as possible so not to have to plan flights according to what airports are populated, another + for fsx. Any guidance on this subject and xplane set up in general would be great, please remember xplane is new to me, so folder and file structure is uncommon along with installation processes, thanks.

Re: Fsx to xplane
Just to add to my post. The scenery in the sticky thread above is looking like a good start, if there are more that are not covered here please let me know.
Re: Fsx to xplane
Other than Jeff's and Adam's airports for the towered fields (I personally prefer most of Jeff's, though Adam basically fills out the rest - sorry!), Chris Smith has a thread somewhere with a dropbox link to some FSE fields. Glitter Gulch is payware, but it's an excellent rendition of LAS. MisterX6 makes payware quality freeware (donationware) for a lot of the Bravos - LAX, SAN, SFO, PHX, included (think he also has Anchorage). For the rest of the towered fields in the PE area, just go to Google and search "*insert field here* X Plane Scenery" and it'll give you some results from the XP Forums. As far as I know, all of the towered fields in the coverage area have scenery. HD Mesh (and Tree Lines and Farms) is quite nice if your machine can handle it, and I've heard good things about W2XP, though it's still technically in beta. To install scenery you'll just need to drag the unzipped folder into your Custom Scenery Folder (rename for organization if you have a lot...) - in the scenery.ini file, just copy and paste different lines to get the hierarchy you want. Airports should be at the very top (everything is placed at the top by default), mesh at the very bottom. This: http://world2xplane.com/2014/05/21/scen ... n-x-plane/ is a good graph of the ini. May have missed something, but that's basically it for the airports. Also, check out the XP forums!
