Good evening...
New here and signed up on a trial basis...
Right off the bat, wondering why I couldn't communicate with ATC on my first flight....
I have a game on headset with mic... Tested it in windows an both work...
However, unless I'm doing something wrong, can't communicate.
Took all the courage in the world to blurt out Cessna 2005 Romeo kilo Charlie departing runway 29 was it?
And then San Luis obispo call sign approximate miles from San Louis Obispo with November...
Then silence. Never heard a peep and landed...
Also noticed possibly a couple of aircraft but they seemed to be frozen in the sky...
Any thoughts???

I am likely not the one with your technical answers but to help I would say please give more information as in type of Sim.

Did you go through all the setup steps listed here:

Did you go through the configuration steps, I used this for XPlane (need to use the one for your type of sim):

Might I suggest you simply start at KSNA in a non movement area (east ramp) and dial in ground frequency (120.8) and ask for Radio check prior to getting airborne. This way you can confirm you have comms and not just flying NORDO through controlled air space.

if you have a 'default communications device', PE will use that. if not, or uses the default recording device.

check your device list and see if it is configured as expected.

definitely call for a radio check to make sure you have a working setup prior to doing the flight.
