Connection error message

hi,
i saw a video on youtube about pilotedge and decided i wanted to try it out. now im here and when i try to login in the client i get the error message:
"an error occured connecting to the air traffic control server"

can anybody please help me,

It might also be a good idea to mention:
  • The sim being used (FSX, FSX-SE, X-plane, P3D)
  • The operating system (Windows, Apple, Linux)
  • OS version (Win7, Win8, Win10...)
  • Confirm that you are able to ping VSPRO.PILOTEDGE.NET. This will prove your Internet is working.
  • Confirm that you are able to log into the PILOTEDGE.NET web site using your email and password. This will confirm that you have the correct password.
  • Clear out and re-type your email address and password in the PE Client. Sometimes the information can "look" correct but in fact has extra unprintable/space characters inside.
  • Confirm that when logging into the PE client that the aircraft type and number is in UPPER case.
  • The full and exact error message.
  • Confirm the steps performed to connect. For FSX confirm that the PE client was used to connect and not the FSX built in multi-player options.
  • any other specs about your system such as video card, drivers, or any thing else "special" about your system.
Remember that we don't know anything about your system except what you tell us.

Unfortunately, the FSX client doesn't provide very descriptive error messages. Your best bet is to send an email to support@pilotedge.net from the email address that you use for your account. We can check the server log to see if:

a) your client is actually connecting to the server, and

b) if so, what the underlying cause of the issue is.

Also, it has been an experience of mine that if you try to login with a call sign that is already in use such as N12345 or Delta 111. The client will reject your login without referencing that issue.
Some like to use the N number here in the states that comes with different 3rd party aircraft for our sims. Others like custom call characters in the N number. Checking the PE map via the link on the homepage prior to login will show all online aircraft IDs.

Typical reasons you can't connect:

* Callsign in use by others
* Username/Password wrong
* You were just logged in as that callsign--this happens if you get disconnected and immediately try to reconnect and the server hasn't "timed out" your last connection
* Account not current/paid/trial expired
