I've posted in the X-Plane forums but haven't received any solid help there so I thought I would try here.

Does anybody here use the XGoFlight Plugin with either the GF-46 or GF-166 modules? I have been toying with my radios for just about a week and have had no luck getting them to work with X-Plane 10. Strangely, I've copied and pasted Chris' suggested configuration for the GF-46 and it gives me a configuration error. I would really love to get my hands on a sampling of a config for both modules. If anybody here has guidance, I will take all the help I can get.

I saw your post in the X-Plane forums, unfortunately I use Sandy's plugin and not Chris's.
I know you said you have tried both.
I have been using Sandy's since day one for my GoFlight equipment and it has worked flawlessly.
I have 2- 166, 1 - GF46, 1 - MCP-Advanced(smaller, older one), 3 - P8's, 2 - RP48's, 1 - TPM, 1 - LGT.

I do remember having issues with having so many modules.
I believe that I had to have the MCP-Advanced directing into the computer in order for it to function properly.
All the other modules seemed to be OK on a powered USB hub.

Have you tried plugging in your 166 directly to the computer just to see what happens??

I also remember issues with these modules and Windows 8 - some driver issue if I recall.
There was a work around for it. Maybe do a search for that to try another direction
