So I found this page talking about the SoCal Metroplex Environmental Project "Optimizing the Airspace Above Our Cities". They are drafting up ideas for changing the approach and departure paths out of the major towered airports in SoCal. No idea when the changes would occur. Judging by the fact that on "10/09/2015 - The public comment period for the SoCal Metroplex project Draft EA is now closed" it makes me think that this is still a active project. Well active by FAA standards. If any one wanted some "light" technical reading about potential changes to arrivals and departures links will be included below.

This is fascinating. I'd love to hear from some SoCal real-world pilots or controllers on these. I went through the suggest PDF and also the one on KSNA proposed changes. It seems like it's a as simple as someone just redesigning based on real data--a breath of fresh air to be sure.

Peter has been looking at the potential impact on our controlling here. Thankfully, it's going to equate to more RNAV arrivals without a need to throw away all of our sectors and starting over.
