Transponder non-mode C

I have been using the X-Plane 10 default Cessna 172 which has a transponder that only has a "XPDR" setting, but no "ALT" selection for mode-C. Does PE see this as a mode-C transponder for purposes of flying in and out of class C airspace? I thought I would ask here before I just go try to depart KSNA or other class B or C airspaces. Thanks for any info.

The transponder is mis-labeled in the stock 172. XPNDR is effectively Mode C, you'll be fine.
You can test it by asking the ground controller while you're in the non-movement area if they're picking up your Mode C.

But just make sure you're at an airport with ground radar such as KSNA. Otherwise, ground control won't be able to see your transponder while you are on the ground.
