touchscreen instruments

Has anyone tried setting up their home simulator with the instruments on a touch screen?
Could you do this with one computer, or will you need to be running to copies of x-plane?

I have experience with SimPLugins (http://www.simplugins.com) both on FSX and X-Plane. I used it on a second PC which I connected to the X-Plane main PC with a RJ45 cable. You can use any TouchScreen monitor to set frequencies, turn knobs etc.
The deluxe version is flythissim, but with a much higher price than SimPlugins.

I use SimAVIO Pro from FlyThisSim at home, and I'm getting a TouchTrainer with a flight school soon. They're great, but obviously being professional, FAA approved software, they're pretty expensive.

Alternatively, this program (https://www.siminnovations.com/software ... ir-manager) might do some of what you want at a much lower price. I have no experience with it but I'd be interested in hearing reviews. Looks like the instruments are user created and there are a decent number available.

I built my sim with 3 monitors for a 100 degree forward view and 2 touchscreen monitors for instruments. Originally all ran on one computer, but I later added a 2nd computer and second copy of X-plane for the instruments. Now I run SimAvio Pro on the second computer for the touchscreens instruments. The system ran fine either way, but obviously better rendering speeds with two CPUs, dedicating the main machine and GPU (980 Ti) to forward view only.

I have a 27" Acer touch screen as my lower monitor and running the virtual cockpit I can use the touch screen to manipulate the controls. However changing frequencies can be a chore and I usually opt to use the mouse for that. Also turn of screen shake... It makes it really hard.

I use two Faytech 10” touchscreens running a Garmin 1000 PFD and MFD respectively. Each on is connected to a dedicated Intel NUKE. The Software is from Project Magenta, workin just fine:

The original panel is a X-Top designed to house Saitek gauges and yoke. Obvisously, there were some maintenance done to make it comfortable for all the none Saitek parts ...
