As we all anticipate the long-awaited expansion, may I make a suggestion: Would it be possible to expand or replace the ratings program? Add new levels or create an entirely new set of VFR and IFR challenges for the program? There are certainly enough approaches within ZLA. You could add specific categories for type of aircraft, weather conditions, type of approach.

I've gotten to the point that I know ZLA better than my home area of ZBW. Direct to POXKU or ITSME... no problem. Direct BOSOX? Where the hell is that?

Try flying to the uncontrolled airports too.
Alphabet Challenge maybe?

I would like to second the Alphabet Challenge...

I learned just as much doing that...it forces you in situations that you have not encountered, may not be sure of and need to resolve.

Great learning experience, especially for this non-RW pilot.
