Help with REP and Xsaitekpanels

Hi all-
So... got the Carenado 210 and really like it. Should get me up & running with X-Plane...
A few issues though:
1) Just started up for the first time with REP installed, and cannot operate the parking brake.
2) Can't get Xsaitekpanels working at all. Instructions are kinda hard to follow.
Any thoughts/advice?
Thanks,
Andrew

Which panels have you got?
I bought the Bonanza F33 and REP at the weekend.
The switch panel works great other than the cowl flaps switch (which works but is only on or off).
My radio panel won't do much at all with it.
Which panel has the parking brake? Is that the multi-panel?
btw, I found with the F33 that the parking brake won't work with the tie downs in place (deliberate feature I think).

Might help to give more information about your set up. At the minimum the operating system. Different trouble shooting if MAC verses Windows.
Also a good idea to include WHICH airplane is experiencing the problem. This is important for X-Plane. Does the problem also occur with one of the default aircraft?
It would also help us to help you to attached the X-plane log.txt file. If possible, attach the file instead of cut/past. Makes it easier to view the thread.
But if looking for a WAG, look at the possibility that the USB power budget has been exceeded. Remember that a single USB port can only support so much power. One way around this is to use as many PC USB ports as possible.
Another way around is to use a powered USB hub.
In my own system various USB devices will drop off or not be seen if the aux USB power is accidentally turned off.
I also have an "issue" with my Saitek radio panel. IF the system is allowed to sleep, upon wake up the LED on the radio panel will not work. The knobs work. After reset the LED lights would work perfect. Where is this going? If looking just at the LED lights one would say that the radio isn't working. However the knobs actually change the frequency.

Hey guys,
X-Plane 10, Windows 7, Carenado Centurion.
Only panel I'm using at the moment (or, trying to) is the radio panel. I have a powered USB hub.
Regarding the parking brake - I don't know, but don't think you can remove the tie-downs without putting the brake on. I'm not at my sim computer right now so I'll check later!
Thanks!

My experience with the F33 with REP was the opposite, I couldn't put the brake on while the tie downs were in place (and putting them on disengaged it if its set).
Did you try doing the walkaround and taking the tie-downs off?
As Wmburns said, I've had aircraft where the knobs work but the LEDs on the hardware didn't.
I also had cases where I had SPAD (FSX addon) running in the background while running xplane, causing the LEDs to flash irregularly.
But with the F33 REP so far, I haven't been able to do anything with the Saitek Radio Panel.
I hope you get it sorted Turner.

Hi tbaac,
Thanks for your help.
You have it right - I can't put the brake on, and the tie-downs are on... I'll try the walk-around, but can tell you from experience that you don't always want the parking brake off when you untie the plane! Most of the time I'm sure it's fine, though.
I use SPAD, but don't run it when I have XP running. I noticed there are (relatively) new drivers from Saitek, for XP; I haven't used any official drivers in a long time, so I'm curious if it's worth trying, and if it fixes the frequency skipping issue.
cheers
Andrew

Honestly for X-Plane 10 under Windows 7 or 10 no Saitek specific drivers are needed. For the radio panel the Xsaitekpanels plugin is straight forward to install. Can you explain more about what you find confusing about the install? Can you post a screen shot of plugins directory?
Does the radio panel work using an XP default aircraft?
Are you using USB 2.0 or 3.0 port? If using USB3.0 try using USB 2.0.

Does Xsaitekpanels show up under the X-plane plug in list?
Do you have a back light panel (BIP)?
Attach log.txt?

Thanks for your help - The panel hasn't worked ever in X-Plane; not sure if there's something I'm missing.
Not at home right now so I can't speak precisely about the Xsaitekplugins installation, but I followed it exactly. I'll look at this tonight & report back. There was nothing confusing about it, really, except that it didn't work. I'll post a screenshot too.
I'll also check on the port - not sure about that but believe it's a 2.0 port in my hub.
I don't have any backlit panels, just the radio panel. I have bought some components and am going to be making some custom panels with switches, though.
regards

Turner, I had the same issue with my Saitek radio panel when I moved from FSX to X-Plane (Windows 10 64-bit).
The solution for me was: uninstall any custom Saitek drivers and software (the stuff that you download form their own website: it's all outdated and buggy and there's no need for it, the default Windows drivers are just fine)
Download and run the following tiny tool USB Enhanced Power Manager Disabler:
http://uraster.com/en-us/products/usben ... abler.aspx
It will scan all your Saitek hardware and disable the enhanced power saving capabilities of the ports where it's plugged,
These simple 2 steps completely solved for me the issue with the dark Saitek Radio Panel and the intermediate control issues with the yoke and pedals.
Since then I've been using the Saitek Radio Panel on both the F33 and the C210 + REP (and any other X-Plane addons for that matter) without issues.
Hope this helps!
