Transponder Issue Solved

Did I miss it in the instructions for the PE software setup? Well, I must have.
It is so simple, but for a dripping wet newbie like myself, not very obvious.
What am I talking about?...Turning on the transponder from within the software control panel menu.
Gosh, I'm flying all around with controllers telling me that my transponder is on standby. I look at my GNS750 that is in the cockpit and the transponder is glowing green with 1200 ALT. I'm so tempted to sit there and argue with the controller, but I will not do that. (my wife and friends say that I would argue with a door knob) But I know they are busy and doing their job.
Something wrong is going on and I know it has to be on my end.
Well...Google to the rescue. I search "transponder not working in pilot edge" and get an answer coming from the A2A forum.
"Do you have the transponder set to "mode C" within the pilot edge software?"......duh.....well....no

Last night I did my first ever flight between two controlled tower airports (class Delta and Class Charlie).
The controller at the class Delta airport was way to busy to check my transponder to see if it was working. So I did my little Google search, found a possible answer and went on my flight. I figured when the Charlie controller told me to squawk, he would let me know if it wasn't working, maybe not very pleasantly....but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
As it turned out my transponder is working perfectly now.
I hope some other ignorant, innocent, green horn, like myself, will see this post before he receives his first hand-slap from an over-stressed ATC controller.
