P3D Locked Up Twice!

Well, P3Dv3.5 locked up tighter than a drum on two different flights today, leaving me hanging with ATC, so I will be using X-Plane with PilotEdge for now on, or until I can figure what is going on.
It is really frustrating because it was an IFR flight, just for pleasure (no test), and it was going so good.
Well, it's back to X-Plane. I love X-Plane, but I have no Orbx and no F1 GTN750. I'll have to just learn to live without them.

XP may not have ORBX... But there are alternatives...
http://futuregameshop.com/product/kpao-palo-alto/ And Aero bridge studios for example.

Thank you for the link. I just bought this airport and it really looks great. It is Orbx quality.
I emailed Future Game Shop about another matter, and they told me that they are going to focus on making their next airport also within the PilotEdge coverage area, and if it sells good, they will continue to make great looking airports for the PilotEdge area. So everyone needs to be buying them as they are released.

Haha good to hear! Also, Google "how to maximize your x-plane 10" and click on the videos section.

I'll do it. Thank you Kyle.

When P3D V3 stopped working for me I switched over to Xplane. I didn't want to lose everything I built up in my P3D world so I ended up reformatting everything and upgrading my graphics card and even with everything perfect in P3D I still ended up back on Xplane. I was sure I'd never make that switch but xplane has run better than P3D ever could it's the way to go!

Well, I am using X-Plane a lot more than I used to and enjoying it very much, but I think my problem may be a little more. X-Plane made the exact same crash to the desktop that P3D made, so my problems go beyond the simulator.
I may have more than one problem. I upgraded my video card and that seemed to help X-Plane. Now I'm finding out that some of my problems may have something to do with a program that I installed a few months ago called "Process Lasso", that supposed to assign different cores of the CPU to programs.
I'm going to check that tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there is an advantage to doing it, but if you are really feeling the urge to restrict a process to using certain cores, Windows already has that feature built in, it's called Process Affinity. Go to the Task Manager, right click on a process and then select the cores that can work on said process.

That said, though, I'm still not sure why you'd want to do it.

Hello Keith,
I had read somewhere that Process Lasso worked really well for core management and greatly improved gaming..and it may, if you know exactly how to set it up, but I don't, so in my case it just makes a mess.
Actually, Flight1 support told me to be sure that the GTN750 is not running on the same core with P3D.
When they looked at my Windows log of the application crash, they said that I need to go into the GTN750 configuration utility and set the GTN750 on a core that is not being used by P3D. Also, if you have more that one GTN in an aircraft, each of them need to run on a different core.
Last night I uninstalled Process Lasso (experiment gone bad) and set my GTN to core 6 in its configuration utility. I was able to complete a one hour flight offline with no problems.
I believe that uninstalling Process Lasso will solve my X-Plane crash also.
Tonight I will try it online with P3D. Maybe the next day I will go online with X-Plane. If everything is working, I can continue with my I-03 test.

Thank you,
Bob
