So, in X-plane Caerenado aircraft, they list an improved, default 430.

Does anyone know how it's "improved"? The 430 in X-Plane has been really helpful to me in learning it for RW flying... The more we learn on the ground, the better, for training and for regular flying.

Also...

In the Elite ATD I fly for my Instrument\commercial, there is a hardware 430 with no display. The display part is on the panel... Is there a way to, for example, map the 430 knob on the right to one of the Saitek radio panel knobs? That would be sweet...

It just means that the plane uses X-Plane's current default GNS430 or 530, both of which were improved with X-Plane 10.30
Planes that were developed prior to 10.30 (and weren't updated since for the new GPS) used a more basic rendition of the GPS: http://forums.x-plane.org/uploads/month ... 630488.png

If the Saitek knob can be used to trigger X-Plane commands, then all you'd need to do is map them to the appropriate commands to drive the X-Plane GPS.
