Yea! Passed My I-09, But Lost Count Of Tries

I actually practiced for this I-09 for 2 weeks, but unfortunately, I was practicing it wrong.
Had the controller not corrected me, I would still be there trying to pass it.
These ratings are becoming an obsession
, but I've come to the conclusion that I learn more by failing them, than by passing the first time.
The controllers are wonderful, they all are, but one of them actually took me a side and explained what I was doing wrong. I could not have ever passed had he not done this. What he explained clears up a lot of confusion about SIDs and STARs that I've had and I really appreciate it. I didn't get a chance to thank him because when we were finishing, the Pilotedge client froze up.
The next time that I tried the rating, I passed (Glory, be!) and then from somewhere, I could hear the Rocky Balboa theme song.
I really liked that because Rocky is one of my favorite movie characters and I have all of his movies.
Thank you again, to all of the great controllers and all of Pilotedge. I've never learned so much about aviation and all while having so much fun.
On to I-10.....while always remembering "....it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward" Rocky Balboa
