Does ATC use real world weather?

I've been using San Luis (KSBP) as my training ground to get comfortable with ATC. Occasionally my real world ATIS will report runway 11 in use. However, ATC always taxi me to runway 29. I assumed PE ATC uses real world weather. I should mention that I use X-Plane sim set to real world weather for my ATIS.
New oxymoron: realworld sim weather

By “real world ATIS” I assume you mean the ATIS in xplane based off of real world weather updates? Xplane simply doesn’t know the real configurations of airports therefore if the wind is calm, it won’t know what the airport uses by default. The only true way to have your ATIS match up with the controllers and flows on PE is to use the ATIS on www.myflightroute.com. One day...maybe one day...those ATIS broadcasts will be incorporated directly into the sim by PE. But for now, you can only get the ATIS externally from the sim on that webpage if you want accurate airport runway configs.

Wow! What a resource!!! Thanks. My PE world just got larger. PEaware.pilotedge.net, map.pilotedge.net & now: Myflightroute.com... hmmm ... I wonder what else is lurking out there?

Thanks Kevin for helping me understand more about how PE ATIS works.
