Turn off "real weather" for VFR?

Hi,

I'm starting with PilotEdge flying VFR. I have a question about the weather: Is it ok to turn off the "real weather" in my sim for VFR-flying? Example: Currently there is IFR airmet in the San Francisco area. Is it ok to fly within this area VFR on PilotEdge with clear sky and 29.92inHg (but communicate the real QNH with ATC)? My goal is to use real weather but for training purposes it might be easier and less distraction to learn the ATC communication.

Yes, you can fly with your own weather. Be sure to ignore the altimeter being issued by the controller if that's the case. If you are questioned about your intentions regarding flying into a field that is below VFR minimums, simply tell the controller that you have your own weather.
