Hello,

I'm a total greenhorn at this...

I'm filing my first VFR flight plan. Just doing everything standard - X-plane 11 with the default Cessna 172 and G1000.

Can someone please let me know what equipment code I should choose from the dropdown list on the flight plan page?

/G. That would be because you have RNAV (GPS) and a Mode C transponder. RVSM is for aircraft that are up in the flight levels, requiring additional certification/equipment. Hence, /G is the right choice as it's non-RVSM.
