Hello,
I've chosen ORBX for Airport models, OpusFSX for Weather models, and FEX for Clouds, Sky and Water. I'm going through the manuals of each product and I've come across several questions related to their use with PilotEdge.
Opus uses NOAA weather data to create what it calls a "Dynamic ...

Re: Fun tower banter with Keith and pilots at KSBA
I can't believe my ears! I think I might know the pilot of King Air N492A . :D

King Air N492A,
It's nice and also little bizarre hearing you again - if this is you!
NY?

Re: New Pilot Hopeing to use P3D
SmallJet, you have nothing to worry about. You needn't worry about this being a 'game'. There's a company with a $6MM sim who will be flying on PilotEdge starting midway through next month. Rest assured, he doesn't consider it a game...he considers it a system which will revolutionize flight ...

Re: New Pilot Hoping to use P3D
Are you referring to the visual representation of aircraft that I would see sharing the same airspace that I happen to be using at any one particular time? Or, are you referring to the visual representation of AI aircraft operating in the PilotEdge system?

Re: KOAK
I read somewhere that PE provides coverage in the KOAK area on the weekends. Is that still true? Would love to do a Bay Tour!
Thanks
Yes, indeed. Getting Northern California, back into the mix (northern (napa/sonoma) wine country, golden gate entrance to the bay, low level morning and evening ...

Re: Ghetto controllers for simming.
Ok, so it's not the height of realism. But it works great.
Ok, so now I know what you mean by "ghetto controllers ." You initially caught me off guard for just a second there. :) Based on your description, I thought we'd turn on PilotEdge and hear a different kind of Clearance Delivery .

Re: New Pilot Hopeing to use P3D
To augment the relatively limited selection of aircraft that ship with FSX (and to an even greater extent), P3D, PE installs a number of additional aircraft models into the simulator, purely for the purpose of providing a wider range of visual models when flying online.
Does that mean that I ...

2) ensure that the aircraft that PE is going to try to create are actually available within P3D using the techniques described above.
Hello Keith,
Can you outline that part a little bit more for me. I'm curious as to why/how PE has to try and "create" aircraft? I was under the impression that ...

Re: Putting The Components Together
...In my opinion, you're worrying about the end state when you should be worrying about what sim is the best to learn how to fly a piston single VFR and IFR.

Re: Putting The Components Together
Here's a video I've specifically chosen to illustrate this point:...
Man, you are so right. I didn't give a fly rats tail through out the entire 11 minutes about "scenery," now did I. So, true. All I cared about was whether or not I could make the same radio calls, recognize the same radio calls ...
