PilotEdge @ Oshkosh 2012

PilotEdge will be on display at Oshkosh 2012 from July 23 through July 29.

We’ll be co-located with Precision Flight Controls (PFC) at booth #2120. PFC will be introducing several new simulation products at the show that will serve as an excellent platform for demonstrating the capabilities of PilotEdge.

Net connection permitting, Fly This Sim will be demonstrating their new TouchTrainer BATD with PilotEdge at booth #4155.

We’ll also be taking part in interview with EAA Radio that will be broadcast live on Wednesday at 7:30am (CDT) (1230z). We'll be submitting some ATC clips from the archives that will be played during the interview.

Pilots are invited to come by the booths to try out the service for themselves and experience high quality ATC while flying some of the latest simulation hardware on the market.

Note: It is not anticipated that the PFC booth will be connected the public-facing PE service. We plan on using a private server hosted at the booth with on-site ATC presence. We MIGHT try putting one of the sims on the public server to see how the wi-fi holds up, but I don't expect it to survive the onslaught of traffic from the smart phones. If that changes and we have consistently solid service, I'll make an announcement.

UPDATE: Starting tomorrow morning Keith and the gang will be attempting to logon to the regular PilotEdge network from the booth. Traffic at KLGB during floor hours (7am-3pm Pacific Time, tomorrow through Sunday the 29th) would be greatly appreciated.

drones have been disabled for the show hours due to extremely limited bandwidth on the show floor, we will restart them at 3pm each day, though.

The normal schedule will resume on Monday.

The PE crew at Oshkosh have been having connection issues and had to cut it early today. I'm not sure if they might come back online later, but at the moment you won't see them on the server.

Thanks, Eugene, for posting the update. The original plan was to do all this offline, but after the first day, we gave the wifi a try and had good luck with it. Today, however, it was generally a train wreck. The connection was pretty much useless (could barely pull up simple web pages, images would take forever, etc). When 500+ people are walking around with smart phones in a the hanger, it's not a surprise that it all falls apart. So, we resorted plan B. I suspect we'll have to stick with that for the remaining time.

Awesome, awesome show. The commercial contacts we've been working with have been well worth the trip.

We are once again live at AirVenture today (granted the wifi connection cooperates). If anyone has time to fly around LGB, it would be much appreciated.
