Post by Adam Wolken »

Hey all,

Just wanted to say that I am absolutely loving PilotEdge. I've been on VATSIM for over 4+ years now and this is the first time I have ever felt immersed in what I am doing. While I've always loved aviation, I have never been extremely passionate about attempting to get a license before I started flying here on PilotEdge. Something about the training environment mixed with the realism makes me really want to learn more (for real now) and I just enrolled in a flight program near my home (even though I'm in college I'll take lessons during breaks :P). I might not be the best pilot but I'm doing my best to learn and doing a lot of reading. Just wanted to say thanks Keith for all your hard work and dedication. PilotEdge is fantastic!

Adam, that's fantastic news, thanks so much for posting it.

At the risk of pulling an "aww shucks," PE would be nothing without the people that run it and support it. Please believe me when I say that this place wouldn't exist without the controllers and other members of the team.

Thanks again for the kind words and I hope you'll continue to enjoy your stay on the network and start planning your transition into real world aviation as a hobby. As someone who just flew into Oshkosh for the first time, I can tell you that it's a pretty amazing community to be involved with!

I joined the PE network via a "referral" from my Dad late last year, along with my brothers and sisters. Even though aviation has been a prevalent interest in our family for as long as I can remember, I never shared this love of flight until I had the opportunity to be immersed in my first PilotEdge experience. The volume of knowledge and first-hand wisdom I have gained in interacting with other pilots/controllers on the network has been incredibly inspiring and has launched me on an exciting adventure to acquire my own license as a Private Pilot! The realism of entering into the ATC world has me hooked for keeps and I look forward to learning more!

Today was some of the most exhilarating and most exciting flying I have done yet! I must have entered the KLGB airspace during one of the busiest times of the day! After a short jaunt from KSNA to KLGB, an hour or so of pattern work at KLGB gave me an opportunity to put to test what I have learned! To say the least, the traffic flying within the pattern offered me, as a newbie an incredible experience to improve my abilities and increase my ATC awareness.

Thank you for working hard to make simulated flight as realistic as it gets so that fellow pilots like myself must come back for more!
