Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
We have an issue with a customer using Mac OS 10.8.1 (Mountain Lion) where his audio transmissions are broken and inaudible.
Is anyone else using 10.8.1 and having success or the same issue with the PE client for X-Plane?

I flew for about an hour the other night, and I'm on 10.8.1. I experienced no audio problems, nor did the controller mention anything.
Not much of a datapoint, but still.

I'm running 10.8.1 now and I can fly around KLAS okay, but if I get near KSNA, I get a crash to desktop. Strange, I know, but I've done quite a bit of problem solving and it is not a scenery or aircraft problem. Some strange conflict between the PE plugin and Mountain Lion. Try moving to KSNA in the Location>Select Global Airport and let me know if X-Plane crashes.

Re: Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
Steve,
When you said it's not scenery related, how did you rule that out? There is nothing location-specific in any of the PE code. My first thought is that you might be running out of memory (since x-plane is a 32-bit application) and that some custom scenery that you have in the SNA area combined with PE's memory usage is pushing it over the edge.
Try setting the object density to none and reduce the texture resolution (requires restart) just for testing purposes and let me know what happens.
Edit : I see from your email that you removed all custom scenery for the testing. That is an interesting result. Please do run the test above, though, all the same.

Re: Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
Yes, as I mentioned in the e-mail, the crash occurs whether I have
my full Custom Scenery folder or one with only the default custom scenery. I am running 9.7 and my settings are all on default with texture resolution set to high, anti-alias at 2x and per pixel shading turned off. I'll run the test per your request later today, but I have my doubts it will change the results. I'll inform you of the outcome. Thanks!

And this is on my MacBook Pro, not my Mac Mini. Keep in mind that I was flying fine in Snow Leopard and that the problem arose only after installing Mountain Lion. Nothing else changed.

Understood...also let me know if there's anything in the xplane log file regarding the crash.

The log.txt gives no clue. It just quits. I'll attach a log.txt in a little bit. I've deleted preferences and I've checked the log.txt. There are no clues to be found in the log.txt. All I can tell you is that everything works fine without the three "lib" files installed in the root folder. More details later when I've had a chance to do further testing per your instructions.

Re: Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
Let me just say this for the record: I will NEVER update my system software ever again! My policy has always been to stick with the OS the computer shipped with, but I had no choice last week. I have ALWAYS had issues when I have been adventurous and updated to a new system and every time I have sworn I would never do it again. Keep in mind I go all the way back to the original 128K Mac and I've dealt with every single OS update over the past 28 years. I won't go into the circumstances that required me to update to Mountain Lion last week, but I sure do regret it!
With that said, I did some more extensive testing and the results are that it is indeed the PE "lib" files that cause the crash. I leave the vspro_mac.xpl plugin file and the VSPro Resources folder in the plugins folder with no effect on X-Plane's performance. Obviously, the plugin doesn't even show up in the plugins menu without the "lib" files installed. I can fly X-Plane and move my aircraft from airport to airport at will without the "lib" files installed, regardless of rendering settings. But even with all rendering options at the verrrrrry lowest settings with no objects, X-Plane crashes when I have the "lib" files installed and I try to move from KRTS to KSNA. I did sign into PE at one point today and did a radio check at KLAS and it was 5 by 5 both ways. I told the controller I was then going to move my plane to KSNA without logging off of PE and beware of my X-Plane quitting and me disappearing from the network. And that's exactly what happened.
I have no clue what to do at this point. I have deleted and reset my preferences. I have turned rendering options down to their lowest levels. I have removed all but the stock custom sceneries. I even went so far as to repair X-Plane with Disc 1. There is definitely some sort of conflict between my MacBook Pro, OSX 10.8.1, the PilotEdge software and X-Plane 9.7
