Problems with X-Plane 10.20 beta (32 bit) and PilotEdge

Post by Goose »

Hello together,

I use OSX 10.8.2 and till I have installed the X-Plane 10.20 beta I had problems to use the PilotEdge Plugin.

Fist I try the 64 bit and it did not work. I understand this, because there is only a 32 bit Version of the plugin. Than I try to use X-Plane in 32 bit mode an than the plugin works. I can change settings and connect to pilotedge. I am also able to hear controllers and other pilots. But the controller is not able to hear me.
When I do a soundcheck in the OS the mic works perfect.

Did anyone have the same problems with 10.20 beta 32 bit? Did anyone have a solution?

grettings

Today I test the 10.20 Beta 6 and with this it is still the same problem.

Did anyone have installed the 10.20 beta and did it work or have you the same issue?

The issue is likely to be the OS and hardware, not the version of X-Plane, unfortunately.

We are running with an older version of the VOIP library. There is a newer one which is likely to resolve the issue, but it will require everyone to upgrade at the same time, including upgrading the voice server.

Once I've confirmed that's the case, we will probably set a date and do the upgrade.

Timo,

I apologize that I haven't been able to help you with this. I plan on doing the upgrade only after we test with 10.8.x and the new sound library using a test client and a test server. I don't want everyone to have to upgrade until we know that will fix it.

The frustrating thing is that some 10.8.x users have no problem with the audio, but you and one other customer have had the problem for sure. In the case of the other user, he was on 10.6.x with no problem, then as soon as he moved to 10.8.x, that's when the problem started. We ran a small test client (outside of xplane) and his audio was mostly unreadable, so we know it's not an issue with xplane (not surprising since X-Plane isn't managing the audio, it's all done by the 3rd party library).

Hi everyone,
I'm facing the SAME issue.
I'm using Apple Mountain Lion 10.8.1 on an Imac and x-plane 10.20 beta 10 (32 bit).
Don't know how to fix that and would like to radio check with someone without interfering with normal ATC operations.
I did my very first two flight today from L52 to San Luis and really enjoyed so much (was perfectly able to hear the controllers and other traffic too) but they can't hear me.
My audio device is a Plantronics USB headphone and seems to work good.
Please let me know if I can do something to fix or test it.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers

They can't hear you at all, or your transmission garbled?

We will be swapping to the new library sooner than I thought, so the garbling issue should soon be resolved.

Can you use 10.10 for now?

Yes they can hear me but in a unreadable way.
As matter of fact I was able to complete my two short flights (I hear now from the recording comms my voice is really quite impossible to read)
Sure I can try on 10.11 (the last stable xplane version) and will let know you.
Hope this way will fix the issue.
Thanks Keith for your prompt answer and keep up the great work. :D

Wasn't there another guy in December/Nov that had this.... it had to do with updating to the most recent version of your OS?

I don't have XP nor do I use Mac but I know the guy was running Mac with latest OS upgrade and it stopped working... no one could hear him.
