GPS
Are there any good recommended add on GPS for x plane 10?? I'm looking for something for quality like the reality xp 430/530 in fsx.

Re: GPS
Check X737's home page. They have some kind of an apparently high fidelity GPS that can be installed into any plane. I only ever read through the manual, so can't tell you how well it actually works.

Re: GPS
Reality xp's GPS add-ons are available for X-Plane if I'm not mistaken. FTS also makes Garmin 430/530/1000.

Thanks for the replies. I've started looking at the FTS SR22 panel. Any reviews or thoughts on this?? Looks really good for practicing approaches and what not. Anyone using FTS software?? Thanks!

Re: GPS
Be prepared for a major ordeal in getting the SimAvio-based stuff installed for XPlane. I bought the Cessna G1000 panels a couple of months ago and became quickly disgusted. The out-of-the-box installation doesn't even vaguely, kinda-sorta work. When I came across a note in the documentation that said, in effect, "don't expect to be able to complete this installation without watching a YouTube video on how to install SimAvio", I put the entire thing on the shelf until my next vacation when I have a couple of days to fiddle with it.

Ok so my only concern is running this on a triple monitor setup. You have the panel overlay X Plane. What do you do about the external view in x plane??? Is the little bit towards the top of the screen all you get?? Just trying to figure the layout out before I consider purchasing.

I can't help you there. I have a 7 monitor setup, including two monitors dedicated to panels -- and I still couldnt get it to work!

Re: GPS
Justin,
Just so you can see the other side of the coin.
I have a four monitor set up - 2 computers - one monitor and computer dedicated to the SimAvio panels.
I found the install quite easy and enjoy SimAvio immensely. It comes with a PDF manual which includes install instructions.
I am unfamiliar with the overlaying of panels on X-Plane on one computer. Maybe that might be different in terms of setup.
I found FTS to be quite good in response to emails directed to support, but they do not answer the .org on a regular basis.
Eric Paton has been very patient with me and my questions...just so you know.

Vincent,
Can you elaborate more on your four panel setup? Which package of fly this sim are you running? Thanks!

I fly all the planes in that are in my signature using the SimAvio panels.
I have 3-24" monitors and 1 computer to run X-plane. This is mainly used just for the scenery. I have another computer and a 27" monitor to run the SimAvio instrument panels. I use mainly the analog panels for all of my aircraft I am flying currently. I do use the glass SR22 panel, but have not tweaked that plane enough in planemaker to make everything working in the "green".
One note:
FTS does not support third party aircraft to work as advertised with SimAvio. They prefer that you use the aircraft that they provide with the panels.
I found that tweaking stock planes in Planemaker, makes the stock aircraft in XP work very well with SimAvio.
