Please add a link to "Preferred Routes" (TEC) to...

Although this looks redundant it is not. The utility speaks for itself. Actually, I was astonished this has not been requested before.

[Edit - I realize this link is available on the training pages, but I am requesting the added convenience for myself and post-training pilots. Also, I think the additions make sense, but other mileages may vary. ]

Adding a link to a TEC route listing seems odd. There isn't anything else on the PE website that provides charts/plates/etc. Why would it provide TEC routes? As for the new tab for the flight plan screen, that is easily accomplished with the new tab command that all modern browsers support. For example, middle clicking on a link in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer will open that link in a new tab. If you are on a Mac with no middle click available, Cmd-click will accomplish the same thing.

Reece is correct, I appreciate the suggestion but neither of these is going to happen. We specifically have avoided linking to real-world flying resources in the site's navigation. We are not interested in PE becoming a "system of record", even by linking - you should be using all the real-world tools you would use for a real flight. We can help people discover what those tools are via the forum. If we add TEC routes, then why not Skyvector? Why not simroutes for non-TEC routes? Why not flightaware for real-world routes? Why not airnav? Why not myairplane.com for chart downloads? Why not the NACO site to order paper charts? Why not myflightroute? And on, and on, and on...

The file-a-flight-plan page is not an exterior link, so it wouldn't make any sense from a user experience best practices standpoint to make it in an open tab. Middle click, ctrl-click, or cmd-click will do it for you.

Again, I don't mean to be a bucket of cold water, in general we like suggestions, I just have very specific reasons why both of these are a no go

Thank you, Tim. Not really what I expected (hoped?), but having clear understanding is always good. Maybe, someday if you have some free time (and if it is not proprietary), I would like to hear more about the reasons you alluded to (helps my understanding).
