Not so much file... but where to file?
I searched around a bit and saw where PE considered setting up a Skype number to replicate FSS, but I'm assuming that didn't work out. So here's the scenario... I'm departing Big Bear for Santa Ana. I'd like to depart VFR to the north, then eventually pick up IFR back to the south to Santa Ana. Question... do I file my flightplan within the PE client prior to departure? Should I use the web tool prior to departure? If I file an IFR plan prior to departure and then depart VFR, does that mess anything up in the system?
Sorry... newb questions I know. If I didn't ask I would just file in the client first, depart VFR, then call for IFR when I'm ready in the air. Is this right or am I over thinking it?
Cheers

Plans are good for two hours after you file, even if you disconnect and come back.
File, depart, call center in the air to pick up the clearance. Use the center freq published in the big bear departure plate.

Ok sounds good. Looks like I had the right idea. I just wasn't sure how the client would handle me putt putting around VFR with an IFR plan filed. Worked like a charm last night. Thanks.
