Cirrus Vision SF50 Type name for ATC

Post by mdolislager »

I searched the forum for what the ICAO Type name might be for the Cirrus Vision SF50 but it confused me a bit more.

I'm not positive what I should use in my callsign for ATC. I mean normally you would say Cessna, Gulfstream, Citation, etc. What about for the Cirrus Vision?
"Vision 123AB", "Experimental 123AB" (seeing as how the SF50 isn't officialy produced yet correct?)

Thanks

It would be experimental until it gains it's type certificate (which it does not have yet). Once it has that we can give better guidance on it's type name.

HXC - experimental capable of speeds greater than 200 kts.

For what it's worth I've actually seen them file SF50 in the NAS before hehe.
