Realair Lancair Legacy: Experimental?

Sorry, this has probably been covered many times but my search didn't turn up a direct answer.

I am a newbie, and will be flying a Realair Lancair Legacy. The Legacy, iirc, is available both manufactured and as a kit.

So, when I call ATC, do I identify as "Experimental" at first, then wait for the controller to ask the icao type code (LEG2)? Or should I just say "Lancair [callsign]"?

Lancair [callsign] or Legacy [callsign].

You should identify yourself as Experimental at some point, too.
