Who must I talk to........

Post by bruce »

The question is where do I look to find out who to talk to & on what frequency?

Flight plan: Taking off from a non towered field Shoshone L61, intention is to fly initially VFR then to pick up my IFR clearance on route to KPSP [JOTNU.CLOWD1] calling whoever on whatever freq. with my psition & height in relation to GFS.

I've identified from the L61 airfield chart that the ARTCC is LA Centre but cannot find a freq listing anywhere.

Good question. That is a tough one to find but if you look on the left hand side of the Las Vegas Sectional, you'll see Shoshine MOA: 134.65 so I would start there.

Thanks Kevin, I had a feeling there was not going to be an easy answer to this. So look for the nearest MOA or Restricted area & call whoever is listed as the information provider.
But, what if there is no MOA or Special use areas?

The low enroute chart lists center frequencies in a blue zipper box. Find the nearest one and you should be in good shape.

In the case of L61, the nearest one is just south of LAS and is listed as 134.65
