You 'waited a bit'. How long did you wait? Tim stated in a previous post that it can take up to 5 minutes to make it onto the home page. If you'd like an instant view, try the online map.

Right now, PEaware appears to be unreachable. That would explain the lack of flight plans showing on the web site. Tim is out of reach right now, but I'm sure he'll check it out when he returns.

Keith, all works now. I was probably too impatient to see the VFR flight plan showing on PE website.

No, you were right, there was a system issue at around 5:15pm. The 6pm automated restart of PEaware took care of it. Tim will be addressing this in the future with a technology change regarding PEaware, which is currently based off a fairly old code base and technology stack. Unfortunately, the traffic graphs will show no traffic for that hour or so, but as you can see from the home page, we had 10-13 pilots online at the time :)

If the new web-based PE filing isn't limited to the SB Flight Plan interface, any interest/thoughts about an optional FAA Form 7233-4 version?

True, PE's coverage area = US domestic and the NAS format flight plan FAA Form 7233-1 remains status quo for domestic IFR flight plans for light piston g.a. ops .... thankfully!
The FAA Form 7233-4 appears to nevertheless be making inroads on the United States domestic IFR filing front

"Users who choose to file a NAS FP will not be eligible for assignment of RNAV SIDs or STARs."
"Use of FAA Form 7233-4 is recommended for domestic IFR flights and is mandatory for all IFR flights that will depart U.S. domestic airspace."

but ...
"Any operator who filed an FAA domestic flight plan prior to Nov. 15 (2012), when the ICAO flight plan form was revised and the FAA updated its guidance on flight plan filing requirements, should still be able to do so."

Form 7233-4 Items 10 and 18, ... a minefield

I'm making myself a little utility to automatically generate PE flight plan from a PFPX file. It works fine with the exception for dropdowns on PE web-filing tool, which I can't get to populate via url query (Flight plan type and aircraft equip.). Is it supported?

Code: Select all

http://www.pilotedge.net/pilot_tools/file?flightplan[departing_airport]=KLAX&flightplan[arriving_airport]=KSEE&flightplan[route]=+SNGO6+MZB+V317+PGY+DCT++&flightplan[altitude]=17000&flightplan[type]=IFR&flightplan[aircraft_identification]=LOT5859&flightplan[aircraft_type]=B738&flightplan[airspeed]=446&flightplan[alternate_airport]=KSAN&flightplan[aircraft_equipment]=Q

Now that it the flight plan type can be passed in, perhaps Ken could modify myflightroute to submit the TEC routes as IFR by default.
