ATC coms dropping out intermittently

I'm having an issue with ATC coms dropping out intermittently, where I'll miss syllables or sometimes entire words. It doesn't appear to be related to my internet connection as it can occur at any DL speed from 2-15mbps.

Any clue what the issue could be? It's extremely frustrating, especially as I'm finally starting to learn IFR and it's hard enough to process clearances when coms are crystal clear...

Using X-Plane 10.22 on Windows 7.

No I don't, unfortunately. Next it happens I'll record it on my end. It doesn't show up in the audio recordings here, so it's definitely an issue with my setup.

Of course now that I made a thread about it, I'm not experiencing the problem. Just got in an hour-long flight without incident...

Hmm... I've just experienced something similar, but it's the controller who can't hear me fine, my transmission it's choppy and the other planes over the system jump forward and backwards, like a bad network connection. Also my connection to the Internet isn't the problem as I have a connection of 5 mbps. What could be the problem? (Obviously only program running is X-Plane)

X-Plane 10.25 64-bit Win7-64.

Is this an intermittent problem or is it happening non-stop? You might have 5mpbs downstream but probably not the other way. If any other applications were sharing the connection (such as netflix), it might cause those sort of problems. One of our controllers had that problem where all would be well until a family member started watching videos on netflix at the same time.

Thanks Keith, I've just heard the PE recording (Today's ZLA Radar 16:00, 19-Nov-2013), and I suspect it's an audio driver issue, because sometimes my soundcard does that to all I playback through it, I didn't know it does it also for recording. I'll investigate on it, to see if I can find a solution here.
